Build the foundations.
Grow the confidence.
Online MYP Mathematics tutoring with Hitarth Shah. Develop number sense, algebraic confidence and the ability to explain, investigate and apply mathematics—not simply get an answer.

beyond one question.
MYP support starts by finding the missing link. It may be a calculation skill, a misunderstood word or difficulty explaining an otherwise sound method. Lessons use manageable steps, visual examples and questions that encourage students to describe how they know.
Schools organise MYP units differently. Share the year group, current unit, assessment criteria and any teacher feedback. Support can address knowing and understanding, investigating patterns, communicating, and applying mathematics in real-life contexts, using the specific task guidance provided by school.
A focused plan, not a generic checklist.
Number
Fractions, percentages, ratio and number properties, supported by clear representations.
Algebra
Expressions, equations and relationships, with a focus on why each transformation works.
Patterns
Describe changes, form general rules and check a conjecture against evidence.
Geometry & measurement
Use diagrams and units carefully when working with shape, space and measurement.
Statistics & probability
Read representations, organise data and explain the conclusions that evidence supports.
Mathematical communication
Use notation, tables, graphs and sentences to make a line of reasoning easy to follow.
Topic depth and coverage depend on your level, syllabus and examination year. Your school’s current course requirements guide the learning plan.
Explain the pattern, not only the rule
The terms 5, 8, 11, 14 increase by 3. Start with 3n and adjust it so the first term is 5: uₙ = 3n + 2. Check n = 1 and n = 2, then explain why three more objects are added at each step. A checked rule is useful evidence; the structure of a pattern explains why it works.
How to explain a pattern, not just spot it
Move from a table of terms to a rule, then test, verify and justify it with clear mathematical language.

Can lessons focus on MYP assessment criteria?
Yes. Bring the task sheet and teacher feedback so the practice addresses your school’s expectations. The aim is to develop your own reasoning and communication.
Can I enquire before committing to lessons?
Yes. The enquiry starts a conversation about your goals, availability and fees. It does not book a lesson or commit you to payment.
